Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 22 March 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using BrainBlox ("the Service"), available at brainblox.io, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must review and accept these terms on your behalf. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

BrainBlox is a free, web-based educational game designed for children aged 5-12 that combines 3D block-building gameplay with math challenges. The Service includes:

All in-game currencies, items, and rewards are virtual and hold no real-world monetary value.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

To use BrainBlox, users must create an account with a username (minimum 3 characters) and password (minimum 4 characters). All new accounts are assigned the "kid" role by default. Parent accounts can be created to monitor children's progress.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

3.3 Parent Accounts

Parent accounts have elevated privileges including the ability to create child accounts, view performance analytics, set learning categories and daily goals, manage time limits, and administer a prize reward system.

4. Acceptable Use

When using BrainBlox, you agree not to:

5. Chat & Multiplayer Conduct

In-game chat is rate-limited (2 messages per second) with a 200-character maximum. Display names are sanitized to prevent XSS attacks and limited to 32 characters. BrainBlox reserves the right to moderate, restrict, or suspend users who violate community guidelines. Multiplayer rooms support up to 10 players and are ephemeral (not permanently stored).

6. Intellectual Property

All content, code, graphics, sounds, and gameplay mechanics of BrainBlox are the intellectual property of BrainBlox and its creators. Users retain no ownership rights over in-game creations, virtual items, or account data. The procedural audio, voxel engine, and math systems are proprietary.

7. Virtual Items & Currency

Coins, tools, blocks, vehicles, weapons, and other in-game items are virtual and have no real-world value. They cannot be exchanged, sold, or transferred outside the game. BrainBlox reserves the right to modify, reset, or remove virtual items at any time. The prize reward system is managed entirely by parents and BrainBlox bears no responsibility for the fulfillment of real-world prizes.

8. Service Availability

BrainBlox is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without prior notice. Game progress is saved automatically but we are not liable for any data loss.

9. Account Suspension & Termination

BrainBlox reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Administrators can ban users, which prevents further access to the Service. Users may delete their accounts at any time, which will permanently remove all associated data including game progress, analytics, and parent settings.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BrainBlox and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. This includes but is not limited to loss of data, loss of virtual items, or interruption of service.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Continued use of BrainBlox after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage users and parents to review these terms periodically.
